Class 1 Competiton training

You have all the pieces you need to enter the class 1 but don't know how to start putting it all together and how to train for the competition? Then look no further! This course is like a signpost showing you the way to a relaxed and successful competition. 

The following points are covered in the individual exercises:  
  • How to build up the group exercises
  • Heelwork: how to build turns, fast pace and stops, 2 steps forwards and back
  • How to build up sit and stand on the march
  • Box: how to reduce the visibility of the target or toy, how to send from the heel position, finishing the exercise  
  • Recall: stability in the down, how to come into heel position / sit in front  
  • Retrieve: How to put it all together  
  • Distance control: Building the distance between dog and handler, getting a good first position change, getting several position changes 
  • Pylon: how to put it all together
  • Jump: Have fun with jump training
We will teach you these new pieces in this course: 
  • How to get into the starting position for each exercise
  • Transporting the dog from exercise to exercise
  • "exercise finished" what to do now?
Ideas and tips on  
  • Training with a steward
  • Training in a new environment
  • Linking of exercises and fading rewards
  • Last minute tips about competing successfully
  • Common competition problems and reasons why
 Before taking this course your dog should be able to:  
  • Group exercises: understand the cue for stand and down
  • Heelwork:  already walk by you in the left side  
  • Sit on the march:  know the cue for sit
  • Box: run to a toy or target
  • Recall: come into the heel position /sit in front from nearby with your help  
  • Retrieve: hold and drop a dumbell on cue
  • Distance control: change from sit to down to sit with help when you are close  
  • Pylon: informally go around the pylon from nearby
Content: 
Each week we publish a document with 3 or 4 topics. For each topics there are instructions, videos and notes.  

Length: 
The course has 9 active weeks with new material. After this, the course and its contents as well as the feedback is open for a further 2 months, so a total of 6 months.     


Support

Everyone can post questions relating to the course content. Post a video of your beginner competition and get a free analysis. 

Standard: You can post one video of max. 3 minutes a week of your training to receive individual feedback. 

Extra: You can post an unlimited amount of videos.

 
Course fee: 
For the standard option 135€, for the extra option 199€. 

You can join the course at the start of every month.
